Saint Cecilia’s Church

Pictured here is St. Cecilia's Church found in the French Hill section of Leominster. I've been having a hard time composing this photograph. This church is large and is surrounded by three story tenement houses. Add the fact that there are telephone/electric wires all over the place.
If I remember correctly, my father back in the late 70's photographed this church from an airplane. Maybe next summer if I think about it I will charter a pilot and plane out of Fitchburg airport. From the air I should be able to capture the church in all its glory.

Monochrome Monday

Here is the steeple of Holy Family of Nazareth church on Union Street. This parish is where I got married, but not at this church. I got married across the street at the old church. The new church was built in 2004.

St Cecilia’s Door

Pictured here are the side doors to St. Cecilia's Church. Growing up I was an alter boy at this church. The church was built in 1931 and was meant to be used as a cathedral. For reasons unknown to me this did not happen though. The doors you see here are not the original doors. The original doors were made out of wood. I could not find a refference as to when these doors were put in. If I remember correctly they were installed in the mid 1970's.
